Once you have created your XML Sitemap you will need to present it to the search engines so that they deal with your site and pages how you want them to.
Once you have uploaded your sitemap to your site, you will need to use Google sitemap tools to manage your site effectively. Once you have verified your site with Google you can tell them your sitemap address. Your sitemap will inform the search engines which pages to include, which to exclude etc.
Once you have told Google you should sign up with MSN Webmaster tools and Yahoo Webmaster tools.
