Organic Traffic

Organic traffic has several advantages over PPC. Firstly, Google figures state that 7/8 searchers will avoid the PPC listings as they are seen as "forced" and "manipulated". For this reason, organic listings receive a much higher click through rate than PPC listings.

Organic listings are perceived to be natural, with the best sites at the top, worst at the bottom. The search engines work very hard to try to ensure that they give good, useful results to their visitors. Google has been winning this battle for the past few years.

Although it is seen as a natural listing process, the organic listings are in fact decided upon by hundreds of different criteria.
