Google and the other major search engines need to be able to navigate through your website. The way you build your page links is quite important because of this, as Google can only read and therefore follow text links. If you are too cleaver and create your navigation in java script then you may well find that it is not possible for Google bot to find the pages in your site.
As part of the navigation process, you will need to build and publish an xml sitemap. An xml sitemap will allow you to tell the major search engines about your site pages and the relative importance of each.
It is important to interlink your site pages so that the search engines can easily find all of your content.
Use simple text links where possible so that your links are easy to follow.
